Canine Culprit behind the missing Christmas Chocolate

We returned to my grandparent's house from church this afternoon to find a den full of torn, shredded candy wrappings....our dachshund Bella had helped herself to the Christmas candy that I'd had in my unzipped backpack on the floor. >_<  At first I was just plain furious with the mischievous(and by now, miserable) dog. How COULD she eat my favorite Christmas candy!!? She had scarfed down my luscious German dark chocolate bar, and my box of treasured Toffifee candy. My favorites. The ones I savored sparingly, to make them last longer. And that darn dachshund had swallowed it all, whole pieces at a time. She didn't even take the time to fully appreciate the smooth texture and flavor of my chocolate!!! How DARE she. The dog, it seemed, had eaten up the last bit of my Christmas spirit. I waved the tattered Toffifee box in her little face, "BAD GIRL," I reproved her in firm, fiery tones. After one long glare in her direction, I just couldn't even bring myself to so much as glance her way again, couldn't bear to see that swollen belly full of MY chocolate. Humph.

I huffed up the stairs muttering along the way, and started packing my clothes with all the adrenaline-induced vigor that comes with being angry, and fuming "Ugh! That DUMB dog!" All of a sudden I stopped folding clothes and assessed my current indignant attitude. "What are you doing!? It's chocolate Lyn! Delicious, rich, luscious chocolate it's true, but just chocolate. Why are you acting like your dog just ate up everything you own!?" Good grief. I can only laugh. Besides, Bella "Bad Girl" Fitzwilliam is paying the consequences of her stolen pleasures, with a whopping stomach ache. Poor dear. She seems to be recovering fairly quickly though, after some emergency care from Mama and Papa, and is expected to make a full recovery. I'm not gonna lie, I'll sure miss that delectable chocolate. I'll also be sure that any more I might recieve in future days remains always beyond the reach of those stubby little doxie legs... =)

  1. That was so touching Lyn :’) I don’t think I could be as forgiving, especially if German chocolate was involved. You were born to blog! Bravo!
